The “hyper-judicialization” of airlines in Brazil
With more than 98% of actions involving international airlines, Brazil needs to improve its regulation and monitor the so-called “hyper-judicialization”.
The hyperjudicialization of aviation in Brazil reaches soaring levels and gains prominence in the world, as seen at the “Portuguese-Brazilian Meeting of Law and Economy”, held in Lisbon, Portugal, in October 2023. According to data from the Brazilian Institute of Aeronautical Law (Ibaer), the country accounts for around 98.5% of global legal actions involving international airlines that operate directly in its territory.
